A glider moves smoothly forwards and back on a fixed base, so it stays in place and comes with a matching gliding footstool. A rocker moves on a curved arc like a traditional rocking chair. Rockers are usually lighter, slimmer and quicker to assemble, while gliders offer extras such as reclining backs and motion locks on selected models.
The Haldon (W67 × D78cm) and Hart (W67.5 × D78cm) rockers have the smallest footprints and weigh around 10kg. If you would like a glider, the Mothercare Best Seller chairs measure W59 × D72cm. Always leave a little extra room behind a rocker for its motion.
All of our glider chairs (Mothercare Best Seller, Haywood, Chatsworth and Kielder) include a matching gliding footstool. Our rocking chairs (Hart, Haldon, Paxton and Askern) are sold as the chair only.
Yes. KUB nursing chairs are tested to UK fire safety and domestic seating regulations, including BS 5852 and BS EN 12520:2010. They are tested to 110kg, and we recommend a maximum weight of 100kg. See each product page for model-specific details.
Most chairs take around 30 minutes to an hour. Rocking chairs have fewer parts than gliders, so they are quicker. Every chair comes with an instruction booklet and the hardware you need, and you can also find our assembly instructions online.
Wipe spills straight away with a cloth dampened with water and mild soap, testing a hidden area first. The Chatsworth and Kielder have removable covers that can be hand-washed, and the Hart has detachable cushions that are easy to wipe down. Please do not machine wash the cushions.
Our nursing chairs are in stock and usually dispatched the next working day, with delivery within five working days. Delivery is free on orders over £50. Estimates can vary during busy periods.
Chairs bought on kubdirect.co.uk include a one-year warranty, and graded items are covered for 90 days. You have 14 days from purchase to return an item; just email customercare@kubproducts.com. Please keep your order confirmation email safe. Full details are in our refund policy.
